The European famous cardiac surgeon, Professor Rafał Wilczur (Jerzy Bińczycki), is abandoned on the day of the wedding anniversary by his wife, who disappears along with their shared daughter. The distraught professor goes to wander the suburban bars to immerse his sorrows in alcohol. Being A short work day , he is robbed and severely beaten by the thugs, and as a result loses his memory. After 15 years of vagrancy, the police once again stop a man with no identity. The arrested main character, while staying in the office of an official, steals documents of a certain Antoni Kosiba, and from now on, by giving up for him, undertakes casual jobs in his aimless journey. At a time when Piotr Fronczewski ("foster family") did not play in Getin Bank ads yet, and Tomasz Stockinger ("Klan") was not under the influence of alcohol - Jerzy Hoffman ("1920 Battle of Warsaw") made films so real that he did not need a smokescreen in the form of three-dimensional fireworks, and the only, not so much the "curtain" as "Dymna" in "Znachorze" is Mrs. Anna, still beautiful as the brightest stars of Hollywood.

Yes, these were completely different times. A strange specialist in the theodicy in which Bożena Dykiel did not sweep Wspólna Street, and Artur Barciś did not act as a singer ("Honey Years").

 Although the quacks are no longer as such, and the only substitute for quackery that we have left, is diagnosing ourselves with the help of thematic online forums, the background conflict of the film is perfectly timely. Namely, the scope of the medical obligation, the oath of Hippocrates and the rescue of a man while breaking another law - seemingly less important - is a truly universal problem. A powerful triumph with increased overtones nowadays, in which the health care system has been reduced to the corporate level and in the name of the lack of insurance, a death sentence is issued on the needy medical intervention of the citizen.

 "Znachor" by Jerzy Hoffman, besides being an adaptation of the legendary novel by Tadeusz Dołęga-Mostowicz, is also the second film approach to the screening of this book, after the movie of the same title from 1937, by Michał Waszyński. This film is a great proof that cinematography is a skillful refreshing of the subject, and not just cutting off the coupons by the producers. In addition to a touching story, Hoffman's film as a masterpiece and an obligatory position in the collections of Polish cinema is a gathering of prominent actors of the previous generation, led by Jerzy Bińczycki in the role of the title "Witch Doctor".
