Minecraft puts a heavy emphasis on allowing the player's imagination to run wild. It's about giving you the unrestricted freedom to build whatever you want, do what your heart desires, and play as you please. Minecraft caters to everyone, regardless of their playstyle or preferences. The same holds true for many tabletop RPG games. It's not surprising that we haven't thought of merging the two.

Algarith, unlike us, is built differently. Algarith is a Redditor that shared images of Yafran (an Elven city) from their Minecraft DnD gaming game. These images were created to give players a good idea of the place. Lalalalal It is filled with NPCs and enemy NPCs, created using the Chisel and Bits mod. This mod allows players to create basic blocks more accurately in the game, giving it a natural and varied look. Algarith then follows the players and manipulates various game pieces while remaining invisible.

"The idea is that it'll be different from regular DnD because players can explore in real time and I always enjoy 3D battle maps which Minecraft makes ideal for." It is a truly innovative idea. While the time investment needed to create a map worthy of a D&D campaign is undoubtedly massive, Algarith thinks it will be worth it because they're playing with friends on the other side of the world.

Algareth mentions a way to simplify the experience that isn't available in Minecraft. Mods that include dice rolling, pre-built miniaturs, character sheet integration, etc. could make it easier to use. There's also a lot of potential for budding modders. Our only concern is what happens if players get off track, but Algarith has plans for that.
