I had an odd task a few years back. I was asked by the Ernest Hemingway Foundation to go get his bed up in Michigan. The bed was in the possession of a nephew in the town of Petosky. This is the site of the Hemingway cottage on Walloon lake and the setting of many of his short stories; Big Two Hearted River, Up In Michigan, Indian Camp, Three Day Blow. Hemingway spent his summers up there, hunting ,fishing, camping and gathering fodder. I chose the weekend of the New Year to go.
When we got hit twice within the last two weeks with a few inches of snow here in the Tennessee Valley there was a lot of dancing going on - unfortunately it was more like the electric slide mixed with line dancing when trying to stay out of harms way on Interstate 75. There was a 20 traffic pile up and a smaller 12 traffic pile in my area and hundreds of accidents on the slick mountain roads. You had to do a quick two-step to stay ahead of the mess. You don't get extra points for a triple Axel unless it involves more than two vehicles.
The scorpion's instinct is to get revenge, and driving is the perfect avenue to vent a little Scorpion road rage. If you pass a Scorpio, plan on being chased.
"Well, girls, whaddya think?" I was taking a vote. We all agreed to press on past Goldfield and get this trip over with. The thought of a hotel room and waking up to tons of snow and needing to buy chains, etc. was not appealing. sổ tay da đẹp were ready to be home.
An hour later we saw signs for the Goldfield cemetery. Then a deathly dark and silent town. One lone patrol car stuck its head out of an alley and then turned the other way. We rounded the 20 mph 90 degree turn at 5 mph and headed out of Goldfield. Then we saw the multi-colored emergency lights ahead.
They're risk-takers, but they're experienced risk takers, and know that stunt driving should be left to the professionals. This is a talkative group, and they should consider putting their cell phone down and just driving.
Oh big deal, you might be saying. So the characters are different from the game. Surely the fight scenes are well crafted? No Sir. The dialogue? This is the type of film that makes you want to hunt down who wrote it and kick them square in the sack just as a matter of principle. This movie is like a kick to the nuts, just one big game of Rochambeau.
