Minecraft Beta Update 15 to Include Weather Effects

Since everyone knows that Minecraft's earned a whopping $33 million to date, Notch has taken it on himself to in true rock star fashion make it rain. In a series of tweets this morning, Notch revealed that Minecraft beta update 1.5 will bring precipitation to the game, which could possibly result in gameplay changes such as watering crops, setting off fires, filling small holes and moistening wolves. Notch included a photo of the weather effects that occur at the border of two in-game biomes, displaying some sort of fantasy world where distinct snow and rain systems are allowed to hang out and be buddies. We called our local meteorologist to find out whether this was a phenomenon that could be happening in real life, and he literally went into a rage.
