NEW YORK - September 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -Record-breaking tourist arrivals to the United States were announced today by the Israel Ministry of Tourism. 78,000 visitors from the United States visited Israel in July 2022. This represents a 4 percentage increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States in august 2022. This is 13% more than 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) declared that it was exciting to see a rise in Israeli tourism from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking figures for 2019, he said. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were celebrating record breaking numbers of tourists entering the country month after month. It's a fantastic positive change that we are happy to see and we anticipate an upward trajectory for years to come."
Canada with 7200 tourists visiting the country in July 2022, and 6,000 in August, isn't too far behind the United States.
"It is so exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are getting close to our record 2019 numbers. We expect that this growth will continue to grow as Canadians are more active in traveling abroad.
Israel welcomed more than 4.6million visitors in the year 2019, of which 969,600 were from the United States. Since May that year, when Israel is now open to all tourists regardless of vaccination status, more than 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
