Ten Years Later A Rare Version Of Minecraft Was Found

An extremely rare early version of Minecraft which was believed to be lost, has been rediscovered almost ten years after its release. Minecraft alpha 1.1.1 was released in September of 2010 for the first time as the Java Edition. games It was only available for three hours. Gaming archive experts have found it again.



There have been a variety of versions of Minecraft over the years, and fans have meticulously collected and archived most of them in the interest preservation. One version known as Alpha 1.1.1, also known as Seecret Saturday was believed to be lost. While it introduced sneaking and fishing rods to Minecraft however, it was found to have a game-breaking glitch that made the screen completely gray, so was replaced within a couple of hours by version 1.1.2.



@lunasorcery, via Kotaku and Kotaku, shared the entire story of its re-discovery on Twitter. As Luna says that Alpha 1.1.1 had become a meme or even a holy grail within the Minecraft archiving Discord Omniarchive and nobody of them had ever expected to discover it.



Someone discovered one of Luna's old tweets and inquired about it, and she was able to find an old backup of minecraft.jar dating the same day as Alpha 1.1.1's release date - September 18, 2010. games Luna examined the file and confirmed that it was Alpha 1.1.1 which she later posted about on Omniarchive and it exploded.



So I posted in the Omniarchive server, and it's not overstatement to say that a few people reacted.



Based on the reactions from the reactions, the reality of just the magnitude of this is starts to set in. I literally begin shaking.
